Cleaning Ceramic Gas Fireplace Logs

Cleaning ceramic gas fireplace logs. The combustion of the gas around them still does leave behind a little soot which typically only needs cleaning on an annual basis. For the fireplace to operate correctly the logs must be placed according to the gas fireplace manufacturer s directions. Use a soft paintbrush to brush away any dirt or debris from the logs. Simple preventive maintenance will preserve their longevity and performance.

Scrub the ceramic gas logs lightly with a scrub brush vacuuming the debris you ve brushed off of the log immediately. These logs are ceramic and painted to look like burning wood logs. Step 7 wipe any remaining soot off of the logs with a dry soft rag. To clean out the gas logs turn off the fireplace s pilot light place the logs onto paper outside the fireplace then vacuum up the soot. Ceramic fireplace logs can last indefinitely with proper care.
